"From Within"
Acrylic, watercolor, pens, plastic film sheets 14.5 x 21 inches Startled by even the smallest change, hermit crabs seek refuge in their shells. They remind me of how I am sometimes. I often hide in my own space but I don't find it isolating or bleak. Instead, I find my own comfort and freedom in it. There is also color, lots of color, in my private personal space. If I were a hermit crab, this is what I would look like inside. Inside would exist the true me: the one who dreams, plays, dances and rests in vibrant colors. Through this piece, I show my own refuge, a playground inside the warm protection of the shell. |
