Animal Study - Jellyfish
Denim jeans, zippers, i-clay, styrofoam balls, isopink, acrylic bars 15x21x26 I am interested fashion. This motivated me to find a creative way to deconstruct an everyday clothing item (jeans) and transform it into another, completely different, form. I liked how the silver shimmer of the zippers resembled the translucent skin of the jellyfish underwater. I also like how the zipper material could bend and move conveying the slow curly movement of the jellyfish. This is a jellyfish "bloom" and I used the distressed denim to create the surrounding environment. To best convey a sense of "floating" I used translucent acrylic bars to prop them up so they can appear to be swimming in the water and can also be observed by viewers from all angles. |
