Life in the Head (Octopus)
Wire, colored thread, glass fish bowl, beta fish, 16x23x14 We know what an octopus looks like. Eight long, outstretched tentacles. Black ink. Suction cups and the enlarged head, round and soft. But what goes on in this supple head of this beautiful creature? Have you ever wondered if life could mean something else inside this head? With these questions in mind, I decided to create the head of an octopus. I created the fishbowl head of the octopus like the fishbowl world that must exist in its head. It is as if the “head” of an octopus not only holds that brain of the creature itself, but it may also be holding another life inside of its own self. |
